Learning about Iran by Being in Iran

As part of the program on Persian culture & civilization, Persian Studies at SFSU is hosting Jerry Dekker who will present a talk accompanied by a Q&A session on traveling to Iran as a way to enrich one’s understanding of Persian culture and civilization. Jerry, a graduate in international relations from SFSU, was an instructor of middle east studies for several years in the middle east and usa before he and some of his former students and friends set up Irantraveler (www.irantraveler.net). Since its inception in 1997, Irantraveler has led cultural tours for students, faculty, and staff from several colleges and universities.
